Apprenticeship Program
Our apprenticeship program provides a valuable opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in plumbing, even if they have no prior experience in the trades. Apprentices will earn a wage while working alongside licensed journeymen and other apprentices. Additionally, participation in technical education classes at HCC is a requirement.
Classes
New apprentices must complete a four-year program with HCC, attending classes once a week from 4 PM to 9 PM. First-year students usually attend on Mondays, while 2nd year students go on Tuesdays and so on. Each year includes two semesters: fall from August to December and spring from January to May.
Hours of Work
Our projects generally operate on a schedule from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. While overtime occurs, it is not guaranteed. Additionally, hours can vary by project, with some starting as early as 5 or 6 AM.
Project Working Conditions
Projects can be in either hot or cold conditions, necessitating adaptability to various working environments. Apprentices must be prepared to work in both indoor and outdoor settings throughout the year.
Transportation
Every apprentice must have a dependable means of transportation to travel to job sites daily.
